Walking tour FAQ
How many people are there on each tour?
The maximum number is 30.
Can I take photos?
Yes. In fact, we encourage you to take photos and submit them to our Flickr set for that tour. (Stay tuned for Flickr link).
I am running late. What should I do?
Tour guides and participants may wait up to 10 minutes for you at the meeting point but no later.
If you are running really late, you may be able to catch up. Call Jane on 0422 064 005 to see where the group is at.
It is raining/snowing/too cold to get out of my pyjamas, is the tour still on?
Yes.
Are the tours accessible?
Tour #1 A musician’s life and Tour #4 Lock out the landlords! are accessible to people using a wheelchair, walking device or people with prams or strollers.
The transcripts of the tours will be on this website in October.
Are the tours suitable for children? Is their a special ticket price for children?
The tours are suitable for children ages 6 and up but keep in mind that they are designed for adults. There are no child-focused activities on the tours.
Children are likely to enjoy Tour #2 Carlton’s lesser known street art histories the most, since it involves wandering down lots of back alleys and colourful street art.
Children who are not in a pram or stroller pay the full ticket price.
Can I bring a pram or stroller? Do I have to buy a ticket for my baby or toddler?
Prams or strollers are ok for Tour #4 Lock out the Landlords, but the other two tours are not always accessible, as they cover narrow cobblestone alleys, dirt paths etc. You don’t have to buy an extra ticket for a little person in a pram or stroller.
How do I buy tickets? How much are they?
Tour #1 A musician’s life is free and the three other tours are $10 each. There is no concession and no group discount.

Stay tuned for this information.
I bought a ticket but I can’t go. Can I get a refund?
No, Melbourne Fringe Festival does not offer ticket refunds. You can give the ticket to someone else though.
I am a journalist, blogger, or writer and would like to write up one of the tours.
Welcome! And thank you for your interest over all the other great Fringe events on offer. There are a limited number of complimentary tickets set aside for you and you must book these through Jane, 0422 064 005 or email info@peoplestour.net
Please do not come on the day and ask for a ticket, you will be politely refused, rebooked for another tour and you’ll have wasted your afternoon!
I am a Fringe Festival volunteer or artist and would like to use my Volunteer or Artist Pass to take a tour.
Welcome! We would love to have you on a tour if there are spaces. Check the home page of this website for updates on the number of tickets left for each tour.
If it is not sold out, then please come along. And if they are sold out, remember there is always the free tour, Tour #1 A Musician’s Life.
